The Black Devil Spike Snail (Faunus ater) is a long, dark, spiral freshwater snail with a striking, cone-shaped shell. Its bold appearance and algae-eating behavior make it a unique addition to aquascapes, paludariums, and vivariums.

This species can grow to 3 – 7 cm in length and is known for its jet-black to dark brown shell with a pointed tip. It thrives in brackish to freshwater setups and is also appreciated as a natural decorative shell for crafts.
